Radio 538 has decided to cancel 538 King‘s Day, which was to be held in Breda on 27 April. In view of the developments surrounding the coronavirus and the risks it entails, 538 does not consider it responsible to let the festivities continue with some 40,000 visitors. All ticket buyers will get their money back.
The health of our visitors, event staff, artists and colleagues is paramount. 538 King’s Day is the largest King‘s Day event in the Netherlands; we have been celebrating it for years with visitors from all over the country. Certainly now that the national celebration of King’s Day with the royal family in Maastricht has also been cancelled, we have decided to cancel 538 King‘s Day based on all current circumstances, says Menno de Boer, radio director 538. It was with pain in our hearts that we made this decision, we would have liked to have celebrated with tens of thousands of people, but now we want to take responsibility and put the welfare of everyone first
