Firefighters were able to save nine other residents. None of them got seriously injured.
Multiple witnesses declare to the American Eyewitness News that the family had come to live in the house just one day before the fire.
A neighbor declares to have feared ABC7 for his life: “Fortunately, the firefighters were here quickly, otherwise we would have suffocated. There was a lot of smoke. (…) I thought we were all going to die.”
How the fire could have occurred is still being investigated. Just before the fire, an explosion would have been heard.
