ADO loses again, PEC frontrunner

ADO Den Haag was unable to follow up last week‘s victory against Willem II. The Tilburgers won 1-0 in their own house. PEC Zwolle had anything but easy against FC Den Bosch, but still managed to cross the line by 1-2. This makes Dick Schreuder’s team the new leader in the Kitchen Champion Division.
Willem II – ADO The Hague 1-0
ADO won convincingly 4-0 against Jong Ajax in the previous round, but in Tilburg Dirk Kuijt‘s team couldn’t make a fist against Willem II for a moment. The visitors were unable to create a single shot between the posts and got the lid on their nose in the beginning of the second half: Tyrese Asante signed for the opening goal.
Willem II remained the stronger team even after the 1-0 and ADO was lucky that the backlog was not greater. ADO remains in eighteenth place in the Kitchen Champion Division due to the small defeat and sees only FC Den Bosch and Jong Utrecht behind him.
FC Den Bosch – PEC Zwolle 1-2
In the run-up to the game with Den Bosch, PEC knew that a victory would give the Blue Fingers the leading position. After five minutes, the visitors were already ahead at the hands of Dean Huiberts. Despite the bad start of the season, Den Bosch was daring to the Zwollenians and offered sufficient resistance. After a quarter of an hour, this resulted in Thomas Beelen‘s equaliser. The teams went to rest with a stand of 1-1.
In the second half, both teams came to sufficient opportunities, but it was the PEC that struck in the final phase. Thomas van den Belt took care of the 1-2 and that caused the necessary anger for Den Bosch, as the home team was in numbers for a while. In the final phase, things became even grim and visitors threw projectiles on the field, temporarily halting the game. However, PEC’
s lead was no longer in jeopardy, which means that the team is now at the top of the Kitchen Champion Division. Den Bosch is second to last.
