ADO records fifth asset: ‘He must ensure balance in the midfield’

ADO Den Haag presented midfielder Tomislav Gomelt on Monday afternoon. The Croat, who had his contract terminated with Crotone in Italy and was therefore transfer-free to pick up, signs until the end of the season.

Gomelt got his PhD to Serie A with Crotone, but got so little playing time this season that he had his contract terminated. This allowed ADO to strike and get him transfer-free to the Hofstad. The 26-year-old Croat also played for clubs such as Dinamo Bucharest, CFR Cluj, Bari and Antwerp. The left leg played two matches for the Under 19 team of Croatia.
On the website of ADO Gomelt explains and explains his transfer to The Hague. “When I got the chance to join this beautiful club, I wanted to grab it right away. I think my playing style fits ADO Den Haag and the Eredivisie. At Crotone I mainly played as a defensive midfielder, but I can actually fill all the roles on the midfield. I want to get as many points as possible this season and stay in the Eredivisie.”
The experienced Croatian, who will play at ADO with the number 95, must ensure stability in the midfield. That says Martin Jol, head of the Technical Heart of the Hague club. “He is an adult defensive midfielder with a nice left leg. He can help us secure the balance of the civil society. We are delighted with his coming.”
After Daryl Janmaat, Marko Vejinovic, Gianni Zuiverloon and Juan Familia-Castillo, Gomelt is the fifth winter acquisition for ADO Den Haag.
