Ajax still seems to be making progress in the battle for Brian Brobbey. According to BILD, movement has still arisen around the striker, which will not play in the practice game between RB Leipzig and Southampton on Saturday afternoon.
Ajax already rented Brobbey from RB Leipzig last spring and wanted to take over him permanently. In the national and international media, an asking price of fifteen to 25 million euros went around and with Manchester United there seemed to be a special hijacker on the coast. It has become quiet around Brobbey for a while, but according to BILD Ajax has placed an improved offer with Die Roten Bullen.
That the striker does not play along with RB Leipzig on Saturday in Austria seems to be a sign on the wall. “Maybe he doesn‘t have to go back to Leipzig at all,” writes the leading newspaper. Despite Manchester United’s interest, Brobbey always had a preference for Ajax, where he went through the entire youth school.
It seems that Ajax is going to bring in its three desired newcomers with a lot of pain and effort. Earlier this month, Steven Bergwijn and Owen Wijndal were taken over from Tottenham Hotspur and AZ respectively after much looming.
