After two missed penalties, Barcelona wins after extension at third grader

The

day after the embarrassing dismantling of Real Madrid, Barcelona also struck a mud figure in the Spanish cup tournament. With third grader Cornella, Ronald Koemans team needed an extension in order to continue a round: 0-2.

After the regular playing time, the game was therefore goalless, partly due to two missed penalties from Barcelona.

Ramón Juan lived the day of his life by stopping penal kicks from Miralem Pjanic and Ousmane Dembélé in addition to all his beautiful rescues. However, on a pebble hard shot by Dembélé in the first extension, the goalkeeper had to remain guilty of an answer. Martin Braithwaite also picked up his goaltje at the last.

No Messi and De Jong

Koeman did not take part with his strongest team imaginable. Lionel Messi, Frenkie de Jong and Sergiño Dest were missing from the selection. Still, with Antoine Griezmann, Clement Lenglet and Pjanic, many established names appeared at the kick-off.

After the two strikes in the Supercup Рthe semi-final against Real Sociedad and the lost final against Athletic Club Рit was already the third match in a row in which Barcelona made it come to an extension. How that has been physically cut in, will be seen on Sunday when Bar̤a visits Elche.
