Air traffic at Eindhoven Airport flat due to sick air traffic controller

Air traffic at Eindhoven Airport is temporarily suspended tonight. According to the Royal Netherlands Air Force, someone is ill at military air traffic control at Schiphol Airport.

This military branch is responsible for air traffic at Eindhoven Airport. There is no arrival or departure possible between 18.15 hours and 20.30 hours. This has consequences for three arriving flights from Cracow, Malaga and Athens, reports Omroep Brabant.

To guarantee the continuity of air traffic control and of Eindhoven Airport, the Woensdrecht airbase will be closed tomorrow.

Four weeks ago, things also went wrong due to capacity problems at military air traffic control at Schiphol. Due to illness, there were no flights to and from the airport near Eindhoven all morning.
