Ajax also seizes ‘Oscar of Creativity’: ‘We are proud unabated’

Ajax has won another prize after the 36th league title. This time, the Amsterdammers alone were not rewarded for their sporting achievements: Ajax won a lion at the Cannes Lions, which is also known as the Oscar for creativity in the marketing world.
Ajax won the prize for its campaign after the 35th national title of a year ago. The club melted that championship scale into 40,000 small champion stars, which Ajax sent to its season ticket holders. The national champions marketing team was highly praised and now also a trophy.
Commercial director Menno Geelen responds on behalf of Ajax to the prize won in the PR category. โ€œWe are thrilled to receive our most recent scale in the presence of our fans, and are already looking forward to the next silverware we hope to achieve on the field,โ€ he said to the club channels. โ€œBut we are also unabated proud of the worldwide appreciation for our creative work off the field, and this lion for Piece of Ajax in particular.โ€
