While Erik ten Hag partly took the blame for registering Ajax-striker Sébastien Haller, the club was working behind the scenes to fix the blunder. The KNVB also made another attempt.
That‘s what De Cceit reports. Ajax was world news Thursday because the club failed to register Haller for the Europa League. A blunder, as Ten Hag admitted at the press conference. “Ultimately, it is the responsibility of me and Marc Overmars. It was a matter of a check mark on and off.”
The odds seem small, but Ajax does not give up and still tries to fix it. Several people within Ajax had contact with the UEFA during the press conference of Ten Hag, also the KNVB made an attempt to get Haller registered.
The question is whether that’s going to help. UEFA has rarely shown colance in similar situations.
