Ajax is angry at the KNVB, reports De Cceit. Nico-Jan Hoogma‘s statements about a possible transfer from Brian Brobbey to RB Leipzig have caused confusion to Marc Overmars, who is working hard.
It’s no secret that Brobbey is in the interest of RB Leipzig, after Ajax announced in early February that the nineteen-year-old striker refuses to renew his contract. “Julian Nagelsmann is there. You have to play, of course, but I think it‘s a very special trainer. My son (FC Utrecht player Justin, red.) worked under him at Hoffenheim. He wouldn’t have missed that,” said Hoogma at Football Time.
Those statements were shot in the wrong throat at Ajax. “The KNVB is there for the clubs. But the highest football boss in the Netherlands is fine if Brobbey goes abroad,” Overmars responds to De Cceit.
The importance for Dutch football should prevail, says the Ajax director. “He should advise Brian to sign with Ajax and ensure that such players stay on board clubs in the Eredivisie,” said Overmars, who, despite the announcement of a month ago, still has great hopes that Brobbey will renew his Ajax contract.
“In Europe, we raise the lion‘s share of the points for the Netherlands. Then you fight to keep a top talent. And then you get this… It’s crazy for words!” , brists Ovemars finally.
