Ajax beats Eintracht, but it’s mainly about possible transfer Van de Beek

Donny van de Beek will soon be pulling the door close to Ajax? The midfielder on Saturday evening in the stands of the Johan Cruijff Arena, where Ajax won a practice game with Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1, thought again about an impending transfer.

“There are indeed developments that keep him out of the selection. We’ll see how that turns out”, confirmed trainer Erik ten Hag against Ziggo Sport.

‘United best papers’

Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona are said to be the main candidates to capture 23-year-old Van de Beek. It is as yet unclear which club has the best papers, although the British newspaper Daily Mirror reports that United is on pole position.

The English club of trainer Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would be prepared to pay some 45 million euros for Van de Beek, who has to help United win the title. Solskjaer would like to complete the deal in the next 48 hours. Only a last-minute bid from Madrid or Barcelona can throw a spanner in the works, according to the Daily Mirror.

Van de Beek is one of the players with whom Ajax has made agreements about a possible departure in the run-up to the new season. The midfielder, like Andrรฉ Onana and Nicolรกs Tagliafico, may leave with a good bid because he remained loyal to Ajax last year, despite interest from big clubs.

Ajax defeated Eintracht, who won a practice game last week from PSV, thanks to goals from Quincy Promes and purchase Mohammed Kudus.

Onana back

At Ajax, Andrรฉ Onana was back in the goal. The goalkeeper was missing in the preparation because of an injury.

Ajax will play another practice match against a German opponent on Sunday at 13.00 hours. Then Union Berlin is the opponent. In the run-up to the new premier league season, the club is still without defeat. Ajax previously settled with Hertha BSC (1-0), Holstein Kiel (5-2), Red Bull Salzburg (4-1), Wolfsberger AC (2-0), FC Utrecht (5-1) and RKC Waalwijk (6-1).

In spite of the positive results, the exercise campaign is not going without a hitch. Daley Blind fell out on Tuesday against Hertha BSC after his defibrillator went off.
