Napoli is not yet counting heavily for the return against Ajax in the group phase of the Champions League. The Amsterdammers were outclassed at home last week, but trainer Luciano Spalletti and forward Giacomo Raspadori from I Partenopei are wary.
“Last week was nice, but we have to reset that game,” says Raspadori at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona press conference, quoted by Voetbal International. “I expect another high-intensity duel, with many one-on-one duels and where we will be in the changeover room. In doing so, we are supported by our audience.”
Spalletti is also still wary of Ajax, but knows that Napoli can already qualify for the eighth final on Wednesday. “We just have to be hungry and show our will, and not count,” says the practitioner. “Ajax is going to react after last week, thats normal. We have to be prepared for that. We also had a hard time in the opening phase last week, until our equaliser. Our response was very good and then we played very well.”
Spalletti, who wants to approach the game as a final, can call on striker Victor Osimhen again, but Amir Rrahmani is missing due to an injury. The defender was still a basic player in the Johan Cruijff Arena.
