Ajax leaves the leading position to AZ

Ajax failed to take over the leading position in the Eredivisie on Saturday. The Amsterdammers cut themselves in the fingers against Go Ahead Eagles: 1-1, which is why AZ is leading the rankings for the time being.
Trainer Alfred Schreuder made the necessary changes in view of the busy schedule. He saw that Ajax took the initiative, but initially had trouble finding a hole. A shot by Dusan Tadic went one meter off and a Brian Brobbey header could easily be caught. Go Ahead played with its back against the sixteen, kept the rows closed and thus gave little away.
After half an hour, Ajax still got its moment. A cross from the Daley Blind, sprinkling with nice passes, was not properly processed, allowing Devyne Rensch to pull out at the penalty spot. His first bet was blocked and in the rebound he shot just off. Blind and Rensch played the same roles not much later, but again the right-back failed to score. Ajax started shortly before the break and Go Ahead goalkeeper Jeffrey de Lange had to prevent Brian Brobbey from becoming dangerous. However, the home team still received a salary for work. Mister 1-0 Davy Klaassen broke the ban at Dusan Tadics instructions.
An unconvincing Ajax went in search of the reassuring 2-0 in the second half, but a volley by Lucas Ocampos – who, like Florian Grillitsch, was in the base for the first time – shot ahead. Slowly but surely, the visitors from Deventer also crawled more out of their shell, without the Amsterdammers becoming more dangerous during the changeover. In fact, in the 78th minute, Ajax was presented with the bill for the uninspired game. Finn Stokkers broke through the left side and served Willumsson: 1-1.
Ajax was suddenly in a hurry and Schreuder tried to force something to bring in Mohammed Kudus, Steven Berghuis and Lorenzo Lucca. The Italian target man became almost dangerous after a cross by Kenneth Taylor, but he saw the ball go ahead. Although the people of Amsterdam continued to search for Lucca, Go Ahead managed to get rid of everything. As a result, Ajax spills points against Go Ahead for the third time in a row. Schreuder
s team now has nineteen points. Thats one more than PSV, but one less than AZ.
