Danilo Pereira lost hope with the arrival of Sébastien Haller that he will one day become the first striker of Ajax. The 21-year-old Brazilian striker, who has been rented to FC Twente this year by the Amsterdammers, reacted disappointed to the arrival of the new Ajax acquisition.
With a clear assignment the Brazilian left for FC Twente. Against ESPN, Danilo tells him that he was told that he could be the first striker next season at Ajax, if he shows what he is good at: scoring goals at the Tukkers. Despite the fact that he makes a great impression with eleven Eredivisie hits, that chance seems not given to him with the arrival of Haller.
“ Ajax is a top club and is always looking for the best players. They put a lot of money on the table for such a transfer, but I wish him and Ajax the best”, starts Danilo when asked about the transfer from Haller to Ajax.” The striker realizes that his view of a permanent place in the vanguard of the Amsterdammers is now miles away.
“ Yes, it has become a bit more complicated. Im not happy about that either, because I have lost hope a bit. Im a top scorer here and Im proud of that. Thats my job, too. Ajax is always looking for good players, and buy them too. I work hard and do what I like most, thats playing football. Helping the team and scoring goals.”
On Thursday evening FC Twente plays at home against Ajax and Danilo gets the chance to show Ajax what he can do.
