Quincy Promes is at large again, but wont make his return at Ajax on Wednesday. The club wants to start with Promes, says a spokesman to the Algemeen Dagblad.
Promes was arrested on Sunday for alleged involvement in a stabbing. On Tuesday, he was released again, the prosecution confirmed. Before Promes rejoins the Ajax selection, both parties will sit together, let the club know. “It goes without saying that first conversation with Quincy will take place and we will not anticipate that.”
For the time being, the forty-fold Orange-International is innocent, unless proven otherwise. “What we said on Sunday: he is accused, but that does not mean he is guilty,” the Ajax spokesman keeps himself on the plain.
Promes participated on Saturday night against PEC Zwolle. Wednesday Ajax will play a cup match against FC Utrecht, but Promes will not be there yet.
