Almere City has Maurice Steijn in the picture as a possible successor to the Gertjan Verbeek fired last week. The former NAC Breda and ADO The Hague trainer is not the only candidate: former VVV-Venlo coach Hans de Koning is also on the list.
With that news, De Cceit will be working out Tuesday night. After leaving NAC last summer, Steijn (48) was without a club. Last season, he grabbed just in addition to promotion to the Premier League. NEC was too strong in the final of the playoffs.
Besides Steijn, De Koning (61) is also in the picture with Almere. Since his departure from VVV last season, he has been without a club. Almere is currently in a very disappointing eighteenth place in the Kitchen Champion Division. This while there was still plenty of play for promotion last season. The club management will want to present the new trainer in the short term.
Almere City has dropped the eye on Maurice Steijn for the follow-up of the redundant trainer Gertjan Verbeek. The former trainer of ADO, VVV and NAC is not the only candidate. Hans de Koning (also ex-VVV) is also in the picture for the vacant trainer post in Almere.
