In Utrecht, a quay wall on the Minstroom has subsided, an alderman reports to RTV Utrecht. The municipality has stabilised the wall and the situation is safe, says the alderman. In the vicinity of the subsidence, the water has been deposited, it is not allowed to sail.
The municipality, together with other parties involved, is investigating who owns the wall and who is responsible for its restoration. There is also contact with local residents.
The cause of the subsidence is not clear. In Amsterdam, a quay wall collapsed on Tuesday. This happened on the Grimburgwal, in the centre of the city, near buildings of the University of Amsterdam.
