The Dutch team will compete against Mexico in a friendly match on Wednesday evening. Dennis te Kloese, former CEO of the Mexican League, thinks Orange is going to be tough.
“I think Mexico will be in the strongest possible position,” begins Te Kloese in talks with the CCEit. “The enthusiasm of the team might make up for the difference in quality. The country of Mexico could use a duel like that, given all the coronapericum.”
Te Kloese sees that Mexico has a number of big names. “Raúl Jiménez had a good season at Wolverhampton Wanderers,” he observes. For Ajax player Edson Álvarez there is often a base place to play. “At his club América he was best in the role of defending midfielder. In the national team he has played quite a few important duels at an early age, even at the World Cup. The best is yet to come. In Mexico he mostly played in the defense”, concludes Te Kloese.
The Netherlands and Mexico kick off at the Johan Cruijff ArenA on Wednesday evening at 20.45.
