Anderson and Van den Bergh in the final World Matchplay

Gary Anderson and Dimitri Van den Bergh have qualified for the finals of the World Matchplay.

The Flying Scotsman was too strong for Michael Smith in his semifinal match with 18-16.

Anderson didnt seem to have to worry about a place in the finals for a long time. He was ahead 5-2 and 7-3, but halfway the match Smith seemed awake. Bully Boy came back to 9-9, but then the air seemed out again and Anderson took a 14-9 lead.

However, Smith had an impressive second breath, tied the score and even took a 14-15 lead, his first in the match. But just when he had the match in his hands, Smith let himself be broken again by Anderson.

The Scotsman regained control and pulled the match towards him with a strong end phase: 18-16. In the final, Anderson took on Van den Bergh, who shook off Glen Durrant (too strong for Vincent van der Voort on Friday evening): 17-15.
