Anne Hathaway was not very high on the film studios list to play the lead role in The Devil Wears Prada from 2006, but the actress says that “you should never give up” in life.
During Rupauls Drag Race Friday, a candidate asked Anne if she often had to fight for a role. “How long have you got,” Anne joked, after which she told about the difficult audition for the fashion film in which Meryl Streep also played. “Let me tell you what: I was the ninth choice for Devil Wears Prada. But I got it! Hold on, dont give up.”
In the film, Anne plays the role of novice journalist Andy Sachs, who becomes assistant to the ruthless editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) of the fashion magazine Runway. Striep received a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination for this role.
