The course of the spring class Milan-Sanremo has been adapted by a landslide. The Passo del Turchino, a fixed value over half of the route, is impassable.
The organization of the Primavera has found an alternative in the Colle del Giovo. This is a fairly long ascent, but due to the negligible rise rate of 2.6 percent an average obstacle for the riders.
The 112th edition of Milan-Sanremo is scheduled for March 20th. The last 100 kilometers are familiar. The riders have to cross the three Capi (Mele, Cervo, Berta) and then in the final over the Cipressa and Poggio. The finish line is after 299 kilometres on Via Roma.
Last year, Milan-Sanremo was not held in the spring because of the coronapandemic. The race was on 8 August, with the Belgian Wout van Aert van Jumbo-Visma as the winner.
