Another success for Van Bommel: Royal Antwerp can smell Conference League

Mark van Bommel is still well on track at Royal Antwerp. With substitute Vincent Janssen, the Belgians managed to win over Lillestrøm SK again, reaching the Conference League playoffs.
Van Bommel was still undefeated in his first six duels as Antwerp coach. This was also due to the victory in the first race over Lillestrøm: in Norway it was 1-3. Actually, the diptych was quickly decided in Belgium: after eleven minutes newcomer Anthony Valencia put Van Bommels team ahead.
As a result, Lillestrøm had to score three times to be able to drag an extension out of the fire. In the second half, another goal was scored, but again by Antwerp. Janssen stood in the field for ten minutes and saw his swipe cracked. However, Birger Verstraete was alert and made the 2-0.
That was also the final result. As a result, Antwerp has to survive one more heat to reach the main tournament of the Conference League. In the playoffs, a relatively tough meeting with Istanbul Basaksehir awaits the club of Van Bommel and Marc Overmars.
