Antwerp prevents Van Bommels first defeat in Istanbul at last minute

Royal Antwerp FC has escaped a first-game defeat to Istanbul Basaksahir in the Conference League playoffs. Mark van Bommel saw his team equalize at the last minute, leaving him undefeated with The Great Old.
Antwerp took office without the suspended Vincent Janssen, but with Jurgen Ekkelenkamp. The ex-Ajacied caused the first danger, but he was unable to place his shot between the posts. However, the best chance for rest was for the Turks: Okaka saw his chopping ball disappear next to the goal. Just before the break, Ekkelenkamp also got a good opportunity on the 0-1, but he stumbled upon goalkeeper Babacan.
After resting, Radja Nainggolan was close by. The midfielder took from afar, but Babacan was able to take the shot out of his goal just now. Shortly afterwards, Basaksehir got ahead. In the 54th minute it was Mounir Chouiar who was able to place the leather nicely in the farthest corner: 1-0. Antwerp then struggled to make a fist against the well-organized Basaksehir.
The equaliser in the final phase therefore fell out of the blue. Central defender Almeida headlined a cross by Vines nicely. Mark van Bommel thus records a ninth unbeaten game in a row. Next week, the Tawny Owl return is scheduled.
