Apple is developing a foldable iPhone, although there are no concrete plans to bring it to market. That reports news agency Bloomberg on the basis of an insider. Rivals such as South Korean Samsung and Chinese Huawei already sell folding smartphones.
The development is still at an early stage, as Apple has only designed folding screens so far, the source says. There are no complete prototypes in the company‘s research facilities yet. Internally, the American technology group would talk about different formats for these screens. Connoisseurs think it might be years before Apple can come up with a foldable iPhone.
Apple would now be especially busy with the latest generations of its iPhone and iPad that will be presented later this year. It is reported that the company does not intend to make major changes to the devices, after last year’s upgrades and improvements.
