An Argentine parliamentarian resigned on Friday after a fuss had arisen because he kissed his partners breasts during a digital session of the House of Commons. Juan Emilio Ameri thought he was not connected to the internet at that time, he said afterwards. The Argentine parliament reported Friday morning on Twitter that a majority accepted Ameris resignation. On Thursday, the politician was already suspended.
His action was seen while another Member of Parliament gave a speech on a large video screen placed in the parliament building. On the screen there were also other representatives of the people who took part in the session from home because of the coronavirus.
President Sergio Massa stopped the session after seeing Ameris caress. Not much later, the session of the parliament was suspended. “These past few months in which we have worked remotely, we have had several incidents where delegates fell asleep or someone was hiding,” Massa said. “But today we have had a situation where the boundaries of this House have really been exceeded.”
Ameri, who comes from the northeast province of Salta, tried to apologize after the incident. “Here in the middle of the country, the connection is very bad,” said the parliamentarian. Ameri added that his partner had recently received breast implants and at the moment he asked how she was doing.
