In the morning, Embracer Group announced the acquisition of Aspyr, developers of many reissues of classic games like “Star Wars” projects. Recently, the studio sent on sale Star Wars Episode I: Racer, Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast and Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy for modern consoles, and before the end of the year is rumored to be planned console reissue of the original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Just before that, however, there were much more ambitious information – allegedly it is Aspyr working on a new Knights of the Old Republic, rumored about for several years.
This is indirectly supported by the fact that dozens of BioWare veterans work in the studio now. Moreover, after the announcement of the acquisition of Aspyr it became known that the company is working on its first large-budget project — its creation will cost about 70 million dollars with a team of more than 200 specialists.

Reputable journalist Jason Schreyer openly hinted that Aspyr is really working on a new Knights of the Old Republic. For the studio it is a big step as before that it was mainly engaged reissues of classics and ports on Mac and console.
We are waiting for details. Aspyr inside Embracer Group will become a subsidiary studio of Saber Interactive.
