AstraZeneca and Oxford University interrupt study on corona vaccine

The British-Swedish pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford are interrupting their advanced trials with a possible corona vaccine.

A potentially unexplained disease has been diagnosed in a subject. The company states that the interruption is a “routine act” in a statement sent to, among others, the medical news site Stat News

We do not know what the subject is up to. According to a Stat News source, the participant is expected to recover and is in the United Kingdom.

The Netherlands has ordered doses of the Oxford vaccine in advance.
