At least 10 deaths in Croatia bus crash, 45 people to hospital

By a bus crash in eastern Croatia, at least ten deaths and dozens of injured. The bus was on its way from Frankfurt to Pristina in Kosovo and got off the road in eastern Croatia. According to the local authorities, 45 victims were taken to a hospital in Slavonski Brod, 170 kilometres southeast of Zagreb. Eight of them were seriously injured.

The passengers were Kosovars who worked in Germany and returned to their homeland for the summer holidays. According to the authorities, a total of 69 people were on the bus. One of the two drivers died, the other was arrested after he had declared to have fallen asleep for a short time. Justice says the exact cause of the accident is still subject to investigation.
