Teun Koopmeiners is officially a player of Atalanta Bergamo. The Italian club and AZ confirmed the million transfer on Monday.
Koopmeiners signs for five seasons at Atalanta, as captain of AZ announced on Sunday after the outing match against sc Heerenveen (1-3). “It took a while, but its round,” he said in tears in front of ESPNs camera.
23-year-old Koopmeiners has been AZs player since 2009. He played 116 duels in the first team and was sure 36 times in it. In addition to Atalanta, Stade Rennes, AS Roma, Napoli and Arsenal were in the market for him this summer. The transfer is reported to be twelve to fourteen million euros.

Football Director Max Huiberts waves Koopmeiners. “Its great for Teun that his transfer actually came from it,” he says on the club website. “He is an exemplary pro and a very good person. Both on and off the field, he has well proven his worth. Where he entered the AZ Youth Academy as a little boy in 2009, he is now making a top transfer as one of the top players in the Eredivisie.”
