Leader Atlético Madrid has expanded its generous lead in Spain. Luis Suárez had the answer to Eibars scoring goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic with two goals: 1-2.
The second hit he made in the penultimate minute of the second half out of a penalty. Suárez is the top scorer of La Liga with eleven goals, in which Atlético has seven points more and a match less than number two Real Madrid.
Keeper Jan Oblak only took his seventh counter-hit, because his colleague Dmitrovic misplaced him from the dot in the opening phase. Suárez had already equalized just before rest, before he himself decorated the penalty kick with which he gave his team the three points.
Atlético Madrid meets Sunday Valencia, which played 1-1 against Osasuna earlier in the evening.
Valencia is working on a very disappointing season, with a current fourteenth place in the ranking and only three points ahead of a relegation site.
