AZ concludes first Eredivisie round with difficult win over Go Ahead

AZ has started the new season with a 2-0 victory over Go Ahead Eagles. In-house, Vangelis Pavlidis and Myron van Brederode were the creators of the goals.
Trainer Pascal Jansen made one change before the start of the game compared to Thursday evening, when AZ went down 1-0 against Dundee United. Attacker Van Brederode replaced Mayckal Lahdo.
In the first fifteen minutes, both teams were unable to create real opportunities. It wasnt until the 44th minute that Go Ahead managed to establish the first real danger of the match. Left-back Bas Kuipers got a great opportunity to hit, but saw his attempt banned by AZ goalkeeper Hobie Verhulst.
AZ, which appeared moderately against the Scots on Thursday, played a difficult first half. Only after rest do the people of Alkmaar really bite off. In the 51st minute, Pavlidis was very close to the opening goal. After a good pass, he was face to face with Go Ahead goalkeeper Jeffrey De Lange, who saved well after a shot with the left.
Less than twenty minutes later, it was a hit for the Greek. After a cross by Aslak Fonn Witry, he entered the 1-0. Sixteen minutes later, Van Brederode determined the final score at 2-0. Next Thursday, the Alkmaarders will have to work again. Then Dundee, who lost 0-1 to Livingston on Sunday, is the opponent in the return of the Conference League qualifier.
