AZ extends contract until mid-2025: ‘Has shown to be able to handle the level’

AZ has extended the contract of 22-year-old Tijjani Reijnders for two years. The multifunctional midfielder was initially stuck in Alkmaar until mid-2023, but has now put its scribble under a commitment that runs until the summer of 2025.
Through the club channels, AZ reports the contract news. Reijnders, who has so far been in action for AZ twenty times this season, is of course very pleased with his renewed contract. โ€œHence the broad smileโ€, laughs the youth international. โ€œI feel a lot of confidence towards next season, in which I really want to become a basic player. AZ is the perfect club to grow.โ€
โ€œIn the last few months I think I have also shown that I can handle itโ€, continues Reijnders. โ€œIt‘s a crazy season because of corona, of course, but for me personally it’s a positive year in which I made many minutes and grew as a player.โ€
Technical director Max Huiberts is also very satisfied with the contract news. โ€œTijjani has a bit of the bad luck that he has in front of him in the current selection of midfielders who are doing very well. Yet this season he has already had a base place six times and many ramps. In it he has shown that he can now handle the level well. We have more players who are pying on a spot in the base, so for Tijjani it is important to keep showing that every day. But it is clear that we have a great deal of faith in him.โ€
