AZ is ready for the new Eredivision-season. The Alkmaarders won the last practice match of their preparation 2-1 by Torino, Italy.
The Serie A centre motor joined the AFAS Stadium with a strong setup and was ahead in one minute. Marko Pjaca hit goal and made the assignment for AZ a lot harder. However, the formation of trainer Pascal Jansen was not confused and within 15 minutes Jesper Karlsson had already provided 1-1.
Goals didnt hit for a long time afterwards. The game seemed to be on a draw, but that was counted outside of newcomer Vangelis Pavlidis. The Greek striker, which Myron Boadu must forget in Alkmaar, made it 2-1 five minutes before time and that turned out to be the final result.
So AZ is ready for the competition and the European diptych with Celtic or Jablonec. Next Saturday, the North Dutchmen will start at the Eredivisie with an out-off match at RKC Waalwijk.
