OSC Lille suffered expensive points loss in France against low flyer Brest. The leader of the Ligue 1 came home no further than 0-0. Sven Botman was held on the bench.
Botman missed playing minutes for the first time this season, probably because of the match against Ajax on Thursday. Without Botman, Lille would have been particularly difficult against Brest. But the former Ajacied was not the only player to get rest from trainer Christophe Galtier.
Lille was dangerous against Brest, but smoothly it wasnt what the North French showed. In the second half, the home team was occasionally dangerous via Jonathan David and Jonathan Ikoné, although Brest simply remained upright. Lille does not score, but has not cashed a countergoal in 600 minutes. Ajax has been warned.
Ajax and Lille meet in the sixteenth finals of the Europa League this Thursday. The first match is played in France, the return takes place a week later in Amsterdam.
