Matthijs de Lit won‘t make minutes for Juventus Tuesday night. The central defender from Abcoude was supposed to be in the base during the home duel with Spezia, but was injured during the warm-up.
La Vecchia Signora has now confirmed that De Ligt will not kick off at 20.45 hours. Juventus has to improvise by the late setback. The inexperienced Gianluca Frabotta (21) will replace De Lijt and most likely act as a left-back: Alex Sandro moves to the centre and then forms a duo with Merih Demiral.
What exactly is bothering De Lit is not clear. The central defender was operated on his shoulder last summer and had to miss the first months of the season, but has since been able to make plenty of meters again. After the midweek home duel with Serie A-debutant Spezia, important weeks start for Juventus: after Saturday’s home game against SS Lazio, the Champions League has to make up for a 1-2 backlog against FC Porto. Whether The Llies is fit enough, remains to be seen.
