Balloonist must pay 65,000 euros for dead parrots

A balloonist has to pay 65,000 euros to a father and his son because he accidentally killed their rare parrots 3.5 years ago. That’s what the judge decided.

Scared to death

It happened during a hot-air balloon contest. The sailor flew very close above the house where the parrots lived. The burners, with which you can raise the balloon, made so much noise that the animals died of fright.

The owners had three parrots. One of those parrots was worth 1250 euros. The other two were endangered hyacinth macaws. Together they cost 40,000 euros.
