Police detained the owner of the Bangladesh plant on Saturday, where a fire killed 52 people. The authorities hold him partly responsible for the fire and held him on suspicion of murder.
In addition to the owner of the food factory, seven other people have been arrested. The police not only investigate the fire, but also see if the owner was responsible for child labour. In the Rupganj company, near the capital Dhaka, children would have worked. The youngest would have been eleven years old.
The fire broke out at the six-story factory on Thursday afternoon. Dozens of people were injured when they jumped from the higher floors of the building.
It was the umpteenth commercial fire in Bangladesh. In 2013, the collapse of a clothing factory outside Dhaka killed 1135 people.
