Banker gets despite corona $31,5 million

The American bank JPMorgan Chase is not grumbling at the million-dollar reward of its top man. Jamie Dimon, who has been in charge of the bank since 2005 for his commitment in crisis year 2020, dominated by the coronavirus, paid an amount of $31.5 million in salary and bonuses. The reward is equal to a year earlier.

Dimons salary package includes $25 million in shares, which are linked to performance. In addition, the bank announced that this is a basic salary of 1.5 million dollars and a bonus of 5 million dollars. Dimon is one of the last bank bosses on Wall Street to be at the helm during the previous crisis, the financial one.

2020 will be especially the year in which the coronapandemic has driven economies around the world. As a result, banks had to set aside billions of dollars to hedge future bad loans. JPMorgan ended the year equally well with a profit of 29.1 billion dollars, one-fifth less than a year earlier. But in the closing quarter of the year, the bank even recorded a record profit, mainly due to an increase in revenues from trading and banking activities.

64-year-old Dimon is considered one of the most prominent bosses in the global banking sector. In March, he underwent emergency surgery on his heart and temporarily transferred the management of the bank to his fellow directors. Since 2016, he has been the best-paid top man of the major American banks. The rewards of the top men of the other financial molochs have not yet been announced.
