Barça benefits from misstep Atlético

FC Barcelona has taken full advantage of Atlético Madrid‘s misstep against Getafe last weekend. The formation of trainer Ronald Koeman won in his own stadium with 4-1 from gate closer Huesca. There were a number of beautiful goals and a striking penaltymoment to admire at Camp Nou.
The match against Huesca marked a milestone for Lionel Messi: he put on the Barcelona shirt for the 767th time and matched Xavi’
s record. Argentine did not take long to listen to his record performance with a goal: after thirteen minutes of playing, he set Barcelona in an unprecedented way by shooting the ball through the bottom of the bar behind Huesca-keeper Álvaro Fernández.

With this, the spectacle was certainly not over in the first half: Antoine Griezmann drew inspiration from Messi‘s goal and decided to give it a try from a great distance. His rocket flew into the intersection behind Fernández, who didn’t stand a chance.

With a little luck, Huesca came back in the game at rest. The away team received a penalty: Rafa Mir went to the ground after very light contact with Marc-André ter Segen. Where it was expected that the VAR would reverse the decision, it remained: Mir took out the opportunity himself and shot the 2-1 against the ropes.

Penalty kick? 🤔 At the moment of rest, Huesca returns to 2-1 in Camp Nou by using a penalty used by Rafa Mir ✅ At least a debatable decision… #ZiggoSport #LaLiga #BarcaHuesca pic.twitter.com/PNNRZHKCR6

However, Huesca did not go through in the second half. Óscar Mingueza took care of the decision with the 3-1, after 53 minutes of play. He was heading, on Messi’s report, handsome hit. The final chord was for Messi: he took care of the 4-1 from a distance, reducing Barcelona‘s backlog at Atlético Madrid to four points.
