Philippe Coutinho is definitely not returning to FC Barcelona. The Brazilian was already rented out to Aston Villa during the winter break and impressed so much that The Villans bought it.
Both clubs report Coutinhos transfer. Barcelona states that it earns twenty million euros from the playmaker and that a resale rate of no less than fifty percent is included in the deal. In this way, the Catalans can also earn money from Coutinho in the future.
The Brazilian played for Barça since January 2018, when he was acquired from Liverpool. In more than four years, Coutinho reached 106 official matches for the Blaugranas, in which he scored 26 goals. This season there was no longer a role for the attacking midfielder and in January he was rented to Villa.
There, in half a year, he played sixteen Premier League matches, including fourteen as a base player, and scored four times. Under manager Steven Gerrard, Coutinho made a great impression and so he will remain at Villa Park in the coming years. He signed for four years.
