‘Barcelona top FC talent Puig reaches personal agreement with MLS’ club

Riqui Puig has personally agreed to LA Galaxy, reports AS. The 22-year-old Spaniard would come over on rent from FC Barcelona for a season.
There is a hurry to the deal between Barcelona and LA Galaxy, as players are only allowed to register until August 4 in America. Puig has been told by Xavi that he does not have to count on much playing time this season and is therefore allowed to leave on a rental basis. Barcelona aims to break open the Spaniard‘s contract until 2023 and extend it by one year, after which Puig can be rented out for this season.
The contact between LA Galaxy and Barcelona would have continued after the Americans wanted to take over Sergi Roberto earlier this year. Since then, the two clubs have continued to keep in touch about players who won’
t get much playing time at Camp Nou, but could be a nice addition to the MLS.
LA Galaxy is not yet in the midst of a dream season in the MLS. The competition in America is now 23 games on the road and the Los Angeles club is ranked eighth. Víctor Vázquez is currently playing for LA Galaxy, but received his youth education at Barcelona. The Spaniard is said to have had positive talks with Puig about a temporary move to America.
