Luuk de Jong is probably in the base at FC Barcelona on Tuesday night. The striker, who came across from Seville on Deadline Day, is one of the few fit attackers trainer Ronald Koeman has at his disposal.
Philippe Coutinho, Ousmane Dembélé and Ansu Fati are not fit yet and Martin Braithwaite recently suffered a knee injury. This showed at the press conference that Koeman invested in Camp Nou. All those offensive absences seem like a basic debut for De Jong coming. He can form Barcelona‘s attack line with Memphis. Bild expects the Dutchman to start.
Koeman prepared his team for an awkward match and took the previous game against the Germans. It resulted in an embarrassing 8-2 defeat. “We talked about what happened a year ago,” notes the CCeit from the trainer’s mouth. “Many of the current players were there at the time. They suffered a lot that night. We know we have the ability to rectify that.”
