Beitske Visser will take part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans on 19 and 20 September. The 25-year old driver from Dronten is assured of a place in the team of Richard Mille Racing
Together with the Colombian Tatiana Calderón and the German Sophia Flörsch, Visser will be the female driver trio of the French team, which will compete in the LMP2 category.
She announced the news on Twitter. “Very nice to race in one of the biggest races in the world“, writes Visser. She already gained experience in long-distance racing in recent weeks, in the European Le Mans Series.
Visser finished second in last year’s W Series, the new racing class for women. Because of the corona crisis the W Series was cancelled this season. The women would race a few races on the same circuit and on the same weekend as the Formula 1 drivers.
Visser’s teammates are also well known in the racing world. Calderón was the first woman in Formula 2 in 2019. Flörsch was involved in a horror crash almost two years ago during Formula 3 in Macau.
