Belgian Crown Princess Elisabeth is going to restudy in the UK. That‘s what the palace announced on Tuesday.
The 19-year-old daughter of King Philip and Queen Mathilde is going to study History and Politics at Lincoln College, which is part of the prestigious University of Oxford. The institute is still housed in a partly fifteenth century complex with a real dining hall and chapel.
Last year Elisabeth trained at the Royal Military School in his own country in preparation for her future as Commander-in-Chief of the Army.
Previously, the princess was already in the UK for a two-year course at UWC Atlantic College in Wales. The school where our Princess Alexia started this week.
Despite Brexit, the UK remains popular among young royals. Elisabeth’s brother, Prince Gabriel (18), starts training at a private college in Warwickshire in September. The Spanish Crown Princess Leonor left for Wales this week.
The Palace in Brussels stresses that, despite her study across the border, Elisbeth will regularly return to Belgium “and remain involved in Belgian public life.”
