Bijltjesdag in Almelo: Heracles breaks with technical director and chairman

Tim Gilissen leaves Heracles Almelo as technical director. After the relegation last weekend, it was decided in close consultation with the club that he should continue its future elsewhere.
Heracles Almelo announces this on Monday evening via the official channels. In a brief statement on the club site, Gilissen explains why both parties came to this decision. Over the past three years, I have made my heart and soul my contribution to the sporting successes of Heracles Almelo. There are many great moments with that. After the recent relegation, the board and I came to the conclusion together to pave the way for the clubs speedy return to the Premier League.
Gilissen joined Heracles in 2019 and was responsible for the club
s sporting performance. In particular, I would like to thank the board and Rob Toussaint as managing director for their trust in me. I wish the club, the supporters and the sponsors a lot of sporting success for the future.
Chairman resigns In addition to Gilissens departure, there is another change in the board of Heracles. Chairman Hans Bredewoud will also resign immediately. For the past fifteen years, Bredewoud has been active in the club unremunerated administratively. His work is being observed by the board for the time being, it sounds. All the years I have been working for our club with soul and bliss. This past season was marked by extremes and contradictions. Together, we have done everything we could to save the club from relegation. Unfortunately, we did not succeed, says Bredewoud.
