Bill Cosby found guilty of underage abuse in civil case

A jury in California found Bill Cosby guilty of sexually assaulting a minor in 1975, a civil case. The victim, Judy Huth, receives half a million dollars in damages for the emotional damage she suffered.

Huth shared that she was invited to the Playboy Mansion with a friend by the comedian at the time. She was 16 years old, Cosby 37, and the jury eight proved that Cosby, now 84, forced her to engage in sexual acts.

Cosby, who did not appear in court, denies. He did make a statement years ago in a video, which was shown to the jury. Cosby says he doesn‘t remember Huth and because she was a minor at the time, it couldn’t have happened, is his reasoning.

The case against Cosby had run since 2014, and Huth said that her son was about the same age as her in that year when the abuse took place. That, and the fact that more women were accusing Cosby, brought back her memories of the abuse, and that‘s why she started a case after all.

The ruling follows eleven months after Cosby was released from a prison after Pennsylvania’s top judge dismissed sexual abuse charges.
