Daley Blind made his return on Saturday‘s training field at Ajax. The 31-year-old defender recovers from an ankle injury he sustained in the Oranje World Cup qualifying duel with Gibraltar at the end of March.
Blind missed the end of the season with Ajax, but he did not dismiss participation in the European Championships. Federal coach Frank de Boer even showed himself very hopeful at the press conference on Friday. “We assume that he will make it, he himself is very good in it. His recovery can cause a little delay, so that he can be deployed throughout the tournament.”
A day later, Ajax shared positive news about the routinier: Blind is back on the training field. He’s got another month to get fit. Orange starts the European Championship on 13 June with a match against Ukraine. Austria (17 June) and Macedonia (21 June) are the other opponents in the group phase.
