This week, Sony announced the purchase of two studios at once — Housemarque, developer of Resogun, Nex Machina, Matterfall and Return, and Nixxes Software, which is known for working on PC game ports and consoles. Also this week, a report appeared in the Japanese PlayStation Twitter-account that Sony had acquired Bluepoint Games studio (remakes of Shadow of the Colossus and Demon‘s Souls). The tweet was soon deleted, but it was not like an error, as it was accompanied by a specially prepared image.
Despite this, Bluepoint Games still stressed its full independence. The media noted that reports of the studio’s complete independence and financial stability appeared in its Twitter-account and job descriptions.
