Boko Haram claims kidnapping hundreds of schoolchildren in Nigeria

Terror Movement Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for kidnapping hundreds of schoolchildren in north-west Nigeria last week. About 400 children are missing after an attack at their boarding school in the Kankara district.

In the province of Katsin, where boarding school is located, people are more often kidnapped for ransom. There are several armed gangs and terrorist groups active that do so.

The boarding school affected had eight hundred pupils. Half of that was taken by the jihadists of Boko Haram. The police and the military have been deployed to find the children.

Our group is behind the kidnapping, said Boko Harams leader in a video. The terrorists tend to kidnap schoolchildren. Notorious was the abduction of 276 schoolgirls by the terror movement in April 2014, many of whom were imprisoned for years and still not all girls have been recovered.
