On Friday, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Moroccans residing abroad, Mr Nasser Bourita, met with the adviser at the National Security Security of Israel, Mr Meir Ben Shabbat, on issues of common interest.
During this meeting, following the telephone call between King Mohammed VI and the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, the two officials agreed to set up working groups that will focus on concluding collaborative agreements in many areas, including investment, agriculture, water, environment, tourism, science, innovation and energy.
As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, these working groups will meet online. However, a high-level Moroccan delegation will travel to Israel as soon as possible, perhaps in February, to finalize the terms of these agreements.
An Israeli delegation, led by Mr. Ben Shabbat, is also expected in Morocco during the month of February.
The discussions between Mr. Bourita and Mr. Ben Shabbat provided an opportunity to discuss the great potential for collaboration that will benefit not only Morocco and Israel, but also the entire region.
